Noma chews up and spits out the competition
If you are big on gastronomic indulgence whilst on holiday the latest S.Pellegrino World’s 50 Best Restaurants 2011 winner is a big indicator to where you should be picking as your next destination.
The winner once again this year is Noma, which is found in Copenhagen, Denmark. Also in the Top 5 are illustrious restaurants such as the Fat Duck and El Celler De Can Roca.
So can someone visiting a country for holiday hope to turn up one of the restaurants that are featured in this prestigious list? Well judging by Noma it could prove tricky, which went from having regular free tables at lunch to a queue of would-be diners that would fill the restaurant for 15 years.
In fact it may be best to play the numbers game – as you would expect France, Italy, Spain and the US have the highest number of hotels in the list with France increasing from 6 to 8 restaurants. Therefore, we suggest you pick one of these destinations and if you can’t make it in the restaurant of choice you will have some other pretty special restaurants close by.
Which restaurant do the Not Just a Holiday team want to go? Easy – D.O.M in Brazil – amazing restaurant, interesting location and you can taste a huge white-fleshed pirarucu fish!
